Biographical / historical:

Spring R. Friedlander (1943-2019) was an advocate for working women, co-creating Tradeswomen, Inc., an association of women working in the trades. as well as participating in The Last Monday Club, a business women's support group. Friedlander also worked with Breakaway and Rising Tide, two free schools for women focusing on self-improvement, education in the trades, and lesbian and feminist politics. Spring R. Friedlander identified as a bisexual Jewish woman and put extensive work into building her career as a tradeswoman, offering shared housing for women, and as an advocate for women, LGBTQ+, and labor rights.
