Four annotated scrapbooks with indexes of clippings, letters, memorabilia, and some photographs pertaining to Collins, his lineage, and his career as an attorney. Three of the scrapbooks are labeled: volume 1, 5 and 6. There is information about Collins' membership and participation in various patriotic societies including the Sons of the Revolution, the Society of Colonial Wars, and the Order of Descendants of Colonial Governors. There are also printed materials pertaining to the Harvard Club of Southern California. There is a biographical sketch of Collins (vol. 5, p. 167), and a 1906 photograph of him in his Los Angeles law office (vol. 5, p.78). The unnumbered volume covers the period from ca. 1875- ca. 1918 and primarily contains political cartoons and cards from hotels across the country. There is also a printed portrait of Collins; Collins' report cards from St. Louis University, 1861-65; a manuscript of "Bylaws of Company `E,' First Regiment Illinois State Guard" written by Collins when he was captain of the regiment; and a printed and holograph Illinois State Militia bill (1879) with a "memoranda concerning this document" in which Collins details the history of the proposed bill.
