Album documenting hiking, camping, fishing and boating in Northern California in the early 20th century. The photographs were taken on the McCloud River, Squaw Creek, Little Truckee River, Yuba River, Feather River, Onion Creek, Toad Lake, "Eagle Lake near Red Mountain," Mount Shasta, and others. Interesting photos show tent camps at the Little Truckee (1908), Biglow Meadows (1916) and Squaw Creek (1919), "Mount Shasta from Biglow Meadows," "Rangers cabin on Sweetbrier trail to Squaw Creek, 1919," "Parkers Cabin at Toad Lake, 1920," "Buffet lunch served at practice shoot, Mormon Island, 1918," McCloud River waterfalls, "Log foot bridge, McCloud River, 1914," "Ranger's Station, El Dorado Forest," a girl "with the 410 gauge along Tom Neil Creek '15," a group sitting in front of a "miner's cabin, North Fork of American [River], Blue Canyon '16," a "Pore feller – 'Es 'ad a 'ard walk – taken from life (or death) at Barton's Cabin;" there are also portraits of hikers, photos of trail signs, caught fish, a hunted deer, etc. Several photos show recreational boaters on the Sacramento River during the 1907 "Regatta, Sacramento Boat Club", "welcoming the fleet of torpedo boat destroyers, May 1908" or during the "imitation of a launch party on the Sacramento River '07."

42 black stock leaves (22 blank). With 93 original gelatin silver photographs (two loosely inserted, all other mounted); one photo hand colored. The photos are of various size, from 7.75 x 9.75 in. to 2 x 2.75 in. All but a few photos with period white ink captions on the mounts; one large group portrait with a piece of paper identifying twelve people. Period black full cloth album fastened with a string.
