Scope and content:

The receiving records consist of five receiving books documenting works received by M. Knoedler & Co. from 1893 to 1910, a 70-volume set documenting works received from 1910 to 1988 (receiving numbers 1 to 71000), and one volume documenting works received from foreign vendors. The receiving books contain indices and logistical information, such as dates, owners, addresses, employee initials and, occasionally, remarks. There are gaps in the documentation for the following years: 1898, 1903-1904.
