Scope and Contents
Folder 1 contains staff organization structures within the CSU Office of International Programs, minutes of CSC Trustee meetings,
memoranda, a report on the status and prospects of study abroad programs, a budget for the International Programs (IP) department,
a staff paper discussing alternatives to the model of the International Programs, a report of the Academic Council on International
Programs (ACIP) investigating complaints against the IP.
Folder 2 contains statements and correspondence regarding issues with the ACIP, memoranda and reports discussing the admission
of foreign students into the IP, a detailed description on the student selection process, and the Guidelines for the Establishment,
Administration, and Evaluation of Study-Abroad Credit Programs for CSU Students.
Folder 3 contains a 1987 status report on the Office of International Programs, memoranda concerning campus-operated overseas
programs, as well as agendas and minutes for various meetings, including the Academic Senate. Also includes memoranda regarding
the state and legality of overseas programs in the CSU and a report on the CSU Office of International Programs organization,
policies, and functions.
Folder 4 contains memoranda regarding staff structure and staffing levels, various correspondence, campus delegation reports,
documents concerning the reorganization of ACIP, a report detailing possible alternatives to international education, and
a requested update of administrative organization within the IP office.
Folder 5 contains a report on the developments, current condition, and future prospects of the CSU IP, proposed changes to
the ACIP by-laws, memoranda related to the Bilingual Credential Program in Mexico, a review of the Office of International
Programs, and memoranda regarding the IP budget.
Folder 6 largely includes memoranda concerning the 1996-97 International Programs student fee. Also contains the CSU International
Programs: Amendment of Trustees Policy Statement presented at the CSU Board of Trustees meeting, a proposal for faculty participation
in international programs, memoranda proposing a new program in Latin America, a paper on the "Academic Integrity of Study
Abroad," correspondence and memoranda related to health and safety guidelines for study abroad students, and the announcement
appointing Leo Van Cleve as Director of International Programs.
Folder 7 largely contains reports and memoranda related to the establishment of a Program Review Committee (PRC) in ACIP.
Also contains documents related to third-party program providers, a furlough plan for CSUEU employees, and a report on a global
competencies course at CSULB.
