Scope and content:

Collection consists of audio and video recordings used in the production of Fisher's documentary on author Wallace Stegner, including interviews with and readings by Stegner, interviews with his friends and family, and other footage (some possibly from other projects).

Biographical / historical:

Stephen Fisher was a documentary film producer. His program Wallace Stegner: A Writer's Life, first aired in 1996 on KCET Los Angeles. Fisher was involved in programs for public television broadcasting on various topics, particularly the environment and San Francisco Bay Area history. Stegner narrated Fisher's film The Wild Edge which focused on parks in the Bay Area. Fisher passed away in 2016.

Restrictions:

Open for research. Note that material must be requested at least 36 hours in advance of intended use. Audiovisual materials are not available in original format, and must be reformatted to a digital use copy. Digital collection is closed until processed.
