Abstract: This is an artificial, rapid response collection put together by staff while researching firefighting within the county following
the Thomas Fire in 2017. Items include reports, plans, and other publications from the Ventura County Fire Department and
other fire departments within the county. There are also some indexes for researchers interested in other resources on the
topic.

This is an artificial collection put together by staff while researching on firefighting within the county following the Thomas
Fire in 2017. Some of the items were collected in the immediate aftermath of the fire.
Items include reports, plans, and other publications from the Ventura County Fire Department and other fire departments within
the county. There are also some indexes for researchers interested in other resources on the topic. The Ventura Strong items
and the handouts on housing resources were collected by staff following the Thomas Fire. The letter from Patricia Clark Doerner
was sent to the Research Library and recounts her personal experience of surviving the fire.
This collection has been arranged at the folder level. Folders are in alphabetical and then chronological order.
