Scope and content:

This is an anonymous collection of eight 8mm films taken by an unknown person in the late 1960s. Several of these are set in gay bars in San Francisco's Tenderloin and Polk Street areas. Events filmed include the 2nd anniversary of the Trapp bar, Reba at a costume party at the Gangway, Empress Reba at a Halloween party at another bar, a party for Jerry O'Connor with many men in drag, followed by a bus tour (Halloween?), a 'Slave Auction' mc'd by Reba, an outdoor film of men at a pool (Bear Wallow Resort?), and other subjects. Films have been digitized. Contact the archivist for information regarding access.
