The vast majority of the newspaper holdings are on microfilm. A small number are collected issues. Vintage bound volumes are held, but microfilm versions preferred for conservation.
- Biographical / historical:

Nevada County, California, original part of Alta California and then Yuba County, California, after statehood, became a California county in 1851. The "Nevada Journal" was established that year, followed by a few dozen additional titles into late 20th century. Issues have been preserved, mostly on microfilm, and are available for examination and printed copies.
