Otto B. Reimer was born 25 May 1894 near Newton, Kansas. He was baptized and joined the German Baptist Church in Marion, Kansas, in 1909. From 1914 until 1916 Reimer was a teacher in the Topeka (Kan.) public school system. During World War I he was drafted and served as a conscientious objector in the Quartermaster Corps. After his discharge from the military in 1919, Reimer settled in Reedley, California, where he joined the Mennonite Brethren Church. Reimer served as a member of the MB General Conference Board of General Welfare and Public Relations from 1945 until 1962. He was also a deacon for many years in the Reedley MB Church, and was active in relief work with West Coast Mennonite Central Committee. Reimer died in Reedley, Calif., on 28 June 1990.
