The collection contains 4 recordings on mp3, 4 transcripts, and 6 subject agreements from oral histories performed by scholar Ian Baldwin while he was a doctoral candidate at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His dissertation focused on housing inequalities for LGBT people in the Los Angeles area in the late 1960s to mid-1990s. Oral histories were performed with Bob Gentry, Christine Browning, Patricia Walsh, Lissa Forehan, Leigh Richards, and Napolean Lustre. All of the subjects were part of student or academic leadership at UCI during the Shantytown sit-in protests in 1990. Further information is available through several media outlets and in the UCI University Archives' collection.
- Biographical / historical:

Ian Baldwin received his PhD in history from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in 2016. He also holds an MA in history from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and a BA in history from the University of Redlands.
In 2017 Baldwin won the inaugural John D'Emilio LGBTQ History Dissertation Award from the Organization of American Historians in Bloomington, IN.
