Description
Hugh Johnson (1939-present) is a British writer and expert on wine. This collection of his papers includes handwritten and typescript manuscripts, research files, correspondence related to several of Mr. Johnson's books on wine, drafts of many of his articles, correspondence and notes on his publications and related projects, and a set of press clippings and scrapbooks documenting his early work.
Background
Hugh Johnson (1939-present) is a British writer and expert on wine. Mr. Johnson has been writing on wine since the 1960s, beginning as a feature writer for Condé Nast Publications and soon after becoming editor of Wine and Food magazine and wine correspondent for "The Sunday Times". He is the author of dozens of books on wine, an enthusiastic wine historian, and promoter of wines from all areas of the world.
