Biographical / historical:

Evelyn Waugh (1903-1966), was a British satirical writer whose published works included Decline and Fall,A Handful of Dust,Sword of Honour and The Loved One, as well as several travel books. Waugh's conversion to Catholicism in 1930 introduced Catholic themes and subjects to his writing including, perhaps his most well-known work, Brideshead Revisited. Waugh was married twice and had seven children, including the journalist Auberon Waugh; on Easter Sunday, April 10, 1966, Waugh died of heart failure at his home Combe Florey in Somerset.
