Scope and content:: Correspondence, exhibition cards, photograph, and price lists exchanged between Gilhooly and donor Gene Tackett between 1981-1999.
Biographical / historical:: David James Gilhooly III (April 15, 1943-August 21, 2013), American ceramicist, sculptor, painter, printmaker, and professor. Graduated from University of California Davis with BA in 1965 and MA in 1967. Original member of San Francisco's Funk Ceramic Movement. Professor at San Jose State University (California), University of Caifornia Davis, University of Saskatchewan (Canada), and York University (Toronto, Canada). Member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
Acquisition information:: Archival information was gifted to Monterey Museum of Art accompaning a donation of several artworks by Gilhooly.
