This collection consists of a photograph from 1950 of Ethel Barrymore and Joe DiMaggio at the Stork Club in New York City after being introduced to each other through their mutual friend columnist Leonard Lyons. An accompanying photocopy of a handwritten letter and its envelope from Barrymore to Lyons is included along with a 1967 letter about the donation of materials to USC addressed to film director George Cukor.
Originally part of the Ethel Barrymore Memorial Theatre Arts Collection at the University of Southern California Library 100 Series, and was labeled 100-22.

Leonard Lyons (1906-1976) was an American journalist who wrote his column "The Lyons Den" covering theater, film, politics, and art for the New York Post from 1934 to 1974.
Ethel Barrymore (1879-1959) was an American stage, screen, and radio actress and member of the Barrymore family of actors. Her career spanned six decades and was regarded as "The First Lady of American Theatre".
Joe DiMaggio (1914-1999) was an American baseball center fielder who played his entire 13-year career in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. DiMaggio was married to actress Dorothy Arnold from 1939-1944, and to Marilyn Monroe for 9 months during 1954.
