The papers of broadcast journalist Robert (Bob) Navarro (1932-2024), who spent 38 years covering news at KCBS and KNBC in Los Angeles and Sacramento. The collection includes Navarro's writings, photographs, family memorabilia, collected publications, and other material. Navarro also worked as a reporter at KTLA Channel 5 and KCAL Channel 9, a news director at Spanish-language channel KVEA-TV, and hosted his own show, "Bob Navarro's Journal," a weekly public affairs series on KCBS-TV. Navarro was the first Mexican-American on-air reporter based west of the Mississippi. The biographical information used in this note was taken from the website for the PBS documentary, Ruben Salazar: Man in the Middle, as well as from Navarro's obituary published by the Los Angeles Times on September 8, 2024.
