Scope and content:: Efren Convento Ramirez was a freelance photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area. He received M.A. and B.A. degrees in Art from San Francisco State University in 1974 and 1977. This collection holds select photos of San Francisco LGBT life during the 1970's. Included are pictures of Briggs Initiative protests, Harvey Milk, Castro street scenes, and Bay Area Gay Liberation (BAGL). Also included in the collection is Ramirez's book "In Pursuit of Images."
