Includes receipts, passes, tickets, timebooks, train orders, personnel memos and other material relating to the career of Southern Pacific fireman and locomotive engineer Julius Emeil Muir.

Biographical / historical:

Julius Emeil Muir was born in California on July 16, 1888. He served in World War I as a member of the 31st Railway Engineers of the American Expeditionary Forces. He began his career with Southern Pacific in September of 1912. He was employed as a fireman and later as a locomotive engineer along the Western Division. He died in Sacramento County, September 8, 1955.
