Mark Solomon (November 1, 1947 - November 6, 2019) was a television producer and script writer for many productions such as Newhart, Alice, Diagnosis Murder, and Grace Under Fire. He teamed up with Mark Egan beginning in the 1960s to write and produce comedic plays and television.

Solomon was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut and attended the University of Connecticut where he met is writing partner Mark Egan. He moved to Los Angeles in 1971 when he and Mark Egan formed their own improvisational comedy troupe.

Solomon and Egan turned to television in 1978 and wrote scripts for House Calls and Alice. They were staff writers for the first two years of Alice and then became producers for the show for its last three years. They joined MTM (Mary Tyler Moore) Enterprises in 1985 where they wrote numerous pilots including Ruth Harper for CBS and Man's Best Friend for ABC. Solomon and Egan worked as creative consultants on The Popcorn Kid for CBS and acted as Supervising Producers on the same network's Eisenhower & Lutz, created by Allan Burns.
