Scope and content:

Two photograph albums, photographs. Mostly color photographs of paintings by Los Angeles artist Ben Abril depicting historic buildings and scenes in Los Angeles, primarily Bunker Hill. Also some publicity (newspaper clippings from the Herald Examiner, March 8, 1964) connected with his paintings, some of which are in the Museum collections. Also loose black/white and color photos of the artist at work. 1964, undated

Biographical / historical:

Abril (1923-1995) worked nights which allowed him to paint during his spare daytime hours. The artwork spanned 18 years.
