Scope and content:: This collection includes organizational, program, promotional, and membership materials of The Exiles group, as well as general ephemera and t-shirts relating to the women BDSM and leather community. The materials in this collection were collected by, and in some cases created by, M Rocket, a coordinator and member of the group. Materials include meeting minutes and agendas of business group meetings, volunteer handbooks, announcements, project proposals, treasurer reports, flyers and postcards, the Lunatic Fringe Newsletter, design materials, new member materials, leadership election materials, photographs, t-shirts relating to leather events, and event posters.
Biographical / historical:: M Rocket was a coordinator and member of the group, The Exiles, a social and educational group for women with an interest in BDSM between women. The Exiles provides educational and social events for women to safely meet, explore, and share information about safety, play techniques and resources, and connect with the leather community locally and nationally. It was founded in 1997 and continues to support the women BDSM community today.
Acquisition information:: The collection was donated to the GLBT Historical Society by M Rocket in December 2022.
