The bulk of the collection consists of extensive correspondence between family members and individuals connected closely with the Russian Imperial family relating to personal matters in the lives of the family. The collection also includes Romanov family memorabilia.

The papers consist primarily of materials collected by the descendants of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich of Russia, a grandson of Emperor Nicholas I of Russia. Materials were collected by the Bagration branch of the Romanov family and were donated to the Hoover Institution Library & Archives by Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich Romanov's granddaughter-in-law Irina Bezobrazova-Bagration.
