The collection documents aspects of students' experiences at Pepperdine. Materials in the collection include publications prepared for and by students; materials related to student organizations, activities and events; and photographs, scrapbooks and memorabilia from different eras. Materials range from 1937 to 2014.

Background

Scope and content:

The collection consists of materials related to student life at Pepperdine and range in date from 1937 to 2014. The materials include publications such as student handbooks, registers, and phone directories; photographs, slides, correspondence, flyers, article clippings, and brochures related to student organizations, activities, and events; and scrapbooks and memorabilia collected by alumni from different eras.

Acquisition information:
Most materials were collected from University Archives files. Alumni scrapbooks and memorabilia were donated by the following: Rich Cantrell, J. Allen Dilbeck, Barbara (Bobbie) Dobbins Title, Arlene and Tom Dubas, Bobbie Craig Fry, Lillian Green, George Gregson, Bruce Grimes, Eleanor Gehrig Harper, Carol Hennessy Carlson, Francis C. Herring, Ernestine Kountz Lewis, David Ottalini, Ken Ross, and Marion Young Shouse.
Processing information:

The collection was initially described by Jessica Geiser and Jamie Henricks in January, 2013. The collection was further arranged and the finding aid was updated by Suzanne Moscoso, Special Collections and University Archives intern, under the supervision of Katie Richardson in July, 2014. Photographs were added to the collection in June, 2015 by Kelsey Knox

Arrangement:

The collection is organized into the following series: 1. Publications; 2. Student Organizations; 3. Activities and Events; 4. Alumni Scrapbooks and Memorabilia; and, 5. Photographs and Slides. Within each series, materials are arranged alphabetically by folder title.
