This collection contains sixteen diaries written by Connecticut native Charles H. Aspinwall (1862-1947). Aspinwall moved to Southern California in the 1920s and was one of the founders of the New Thought Movement in Pasadena.
Aspinwall was born in Berlin, Connecticut, where he farmed, married his wife Julia Edwards Aspinwall (1864-1949), and raised five children. In the 1920s, the couple moved to El Monte Township in Southern California.
Aspinwall's diaries contain writing as early as 1890 and as late 1937. They include notes about his travels, his work, his philosophical thoughts, and the people and ideas that influenced him.
