Scope and content:

The collection comprises family portraits, snapshots, and photograph albums of F. Chester Davis, his wife Stella Eitzer, and their family. Included are images taken in the 1940s of the Muirson Label Company of San Jose, where Davis worked.

Biographical / historical:

Frank Chester Davis (1897-1972) was originally from San Miguel, California, and worked as an electrotyper at the Muirson Label Company, retiring in 1969. He was a member of Willow Glen Lodge 676, F&AM, and a veteran of World War I. He and wife Stella Eitzer, also of California, had two children, Robert Davis and Dorothy Davis. Dorothy Davis married Herbert Pankratz in 1939 in San Jose, where they resided.

Acquisition information:
The collection was donated to the San Jose Historical Museum in 1991
