Private Sturges Phoenix Taggart, United States Army (b. June 14) was born in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He attended the Marquette
Law School in Milwaukee. He served in France during the First World War with Supply Company, 120th Field Artillery, 2nd Battalion,
United States Army.

Content Description
This collection contains one correspondence written by Pvt. Sturges Phoenix Taggart, USA to his sister Alice Delight Taggart
while still stationed in France after the end of the First World War. In his letter, he muses about when he will be able to
return to America, complains about his battalion, and considers his plans upon discharge.
