The majority of the correspondence is from Laurette Taylor (1933-1935) and between Cukor and Moss Hart (1945-1959).

Biographical / historical:

George Cukor (1899-1983) was an American film director. He directed films including A Bill of Divorcement (1932), Our Betters (1933), and Little Women (1933) Dinner at Eight (1933), David Copperfield (1935), Romeo and Juliet (1936), The Philadelphia Story (1940), Gaslight (1944), A Star Is Born (1954). Cukor won an Academy Award for Best Director for My Fair Lady (1964).
