Biographical / historical:

Audrey Chamberlin was born Mabel Audrey Richards in Grass Valley, California, around 1890. In 1911, at age 21, she and Alexander C. H. Chamberlin were married in Oakland, California, where his family had long been established and they began married life. The Chamberlin Brothers, Alexander and Lloyd, purchased the Madera Opera House, north of Fresno, around 1915, bringing movies to the venue. Alexander managed the theater until at least 1924. The couple relocated to Long Beach in 1925. The couple’s only child, Alexander C. H. Chamberlin Jr., died at age 14 in Los Angeles in 1927.
