The materials in this collection document early years of the Gay Community Services Center in Los Angeles (today known as the Los Angeles LGBT Center), as well as the Alcoholism Center for Women, which started as a program within the GCSC. Images also document feminist musicians in the 1970s, including Holly Near, Vicki Randle, Meg Christian, and Cris Williamson.

This collection comprises negatives, contact sheets, slides, and photographic prints, 1972-2011 (bulk, 1972-1977), from photographer and lesbian activist, Denise Crippen.
