- Patrick English (born 1982) is a gay U.S. Army veteran and former Korean language linguist. He served in the Army between 2000 and 2005, including a tour in Iraq. Following his service, he participated in public advocacy for the repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, including through the Call to Duty speaking tour. Materials in the collection document English’s Army service and advocacy against Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, including a dress uniform with medals; name tape from English’s helmet; a small number of photographs; a basic training yearbook; digital files, including a video file, documenting the Call to Duty tour; DVDs featuring interviews of English; and newspaper and magazine articles related to Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
