The Francisco DueƱas collection, 1996-2016, primarily consists of material DueƱas collected in his work conducting outreach activities for Lambda Legal. Scope and content:

The Francisco DueƱas collection, 1996-2016, primarily consists of material DueƱas collected in his work conducting outreach activities for Lambda Legal. It contains textual materials addressing various issues affecting the Latino/Latina/Latinx, Chicano, and LGBTQ Latinx communities. Materials within the collection include papers and agendas from workshops and conferences pertaining to health, HIV/AIDS, immigration, and labor. Other materials include government-issued pamphlets, LGBTQ magazine/newsletter publications, LGBTQ friendly religious booklets, entertainment and nightlife ephemera, and newspaper clippings.

Biographical / historical:

Francisco DueƱas is from South Gate, California. In 2004, DueƱas began working as the Community Editor for the Western Regional Office of Lambda Legal. He would eventually serve as Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Lambda Legal, where he worked for 14 years.

In addition, through the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center's Safe Haven AmeriCorps Program, DueƱas got the chance to work with queer youth in three Los Angeles Unified School District High Schools. DueƱas also served on the City of Los Angeles' Human Relations Committee.

In 2018, DueƱas began working as Housing Justice Campaigns Director for the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE).

As of 2024, DueƱas serves as Executive Director for Housing Now!, a California statewide housing justice advocacy coalition.
