Biographical / historical:

Frank Herbert Towne was born in Ohio to Frank Newton (1858-) and Ella Jane [Thompson] (1856-) Towne on Jul. 20, 1884. On Jun. 27, 1907, he married Ellen Jefferys. They had three sons, Gerald Frederick, Norman H. and Courtney L. By 1910, he was employed as a locomotive fireman in Oregon. In the 1920 and 1930 Oregon Census, Towne was employed as a locomotive engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Oregon. Towne and Ellen divorced on April 15, 1930. On December 28, 1933, Towne married Clacie Williams, a widow.

Towne passed away on October 28, 1966 in Los Angeles, California.
