Papers and photographs; in English and German; includes Carl Laemmle's "My Book of Friends," a bound volume with handwritten messages and illustrations from the Universal Studios founder's friends in Germany and later in the United States, dated from 1883-1927. (A microfilm roll of "My Book of Friends" is housed in the L.C.) Collection contains primarily autographs from an international circle of friends, including heads of organizations, business magnates, statesmen, friends from Laupheim, Germany, the opera world, actors, writers and athletes. 1883-1975 (bulk is 1927-1939).
