The Drum Barracks Civil War Museum Collection primarily documents the history of the location, as well as activities and events of staff and volunteers at the Museum, located in Wilmington, California between 1862 and 2015. The collection consists of correspondence, informational brochures and flyers, historical booklets, newspaper clippings, photographs, historical sketches, reports, volunteer and docent educational material, exterior and interior views of the Drum Barracks, and selected newsletters, including Reveille, The Newsletter of the Drum Barracks Society and Drum Beats. Topics include holiday celebrations , guest lectures, book talks, tours, historical reenactments, fundraising events, and festivals. Highlights of the collection are Drum Barracks Powder Magazine, A Report by Wilmington Historical Society, and The History and Architecture of the Drum Barracks Powder Magazine, which detail the history of the Powder Magazine, a Civil War Era munitions storehouse, for Union troops stationed at Camp Drum, and efforts to save the building from demolition in the late 1980s-early 1990s.
