Scope and content:

Ken Jones was a gay LGBTQ activist who was the first black president of the SF Pride Committee and is responsible for spearheading efforts to include traditionally underrepresented groups in the San Francisco Pride Parade. Jones was also a key organizer in the boycotts against Castro bars with discriminatory admission practices that often targeted people of color and women, and a core volunteer at the San Francisco AIDS foundation. This collection includes the personal papers of Ken Jones including photographs, awards, audiovisual material, and garments.
