Arthur Ziebarth was born on May or June 21, 1903, in Ottumwa, Iowa (Ziebarth's birthdate is listed as May 21, 1903, and June 21, 1903, on various documents). Ziebarth was the son of Charles and Grace Ziebarth. He was employed by the Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie Railway Company as a brakeman from August 27, 1925-December 9, 1925. Ziebarth was living with his parents, his wife and his children in Tennessee at the time of the 1930 Census and his occupation is listed as a railroad fireman. Ziebarth married Elizabeth "Bess" Schantz (1901-1991) in 1926.
At the time of his World War II draft registration, Ziebarth was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad on the San Joaquin Division in Fresno, California. He is listed in the 1942 Fresno City Directory as a yardman for Southern Pacific. By 1954, Ziebarth was living in Oakland, California. Ziebarth passed away on Aug. 31, 1986, and is buried at the Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward, Alameda County, California.
