This small collection consists of materials by and about Dr. James Fulton Percy. Nearly half of this collection is comprised of offprints of medical articles written by Dr. Percy, particularly about cancer treatment using cauterization. Also included are papers and a report on cancer treatment. There is also a small amount of biographical information about Dr. Percy, including data sheets and bibliographies, certificates, material about Dr. Percy's wife Roberta, and eulogies, obituaries and papers pertaining to the New York University alumni hall fund in his name. In addition are Dr. Percy's own comments on his 1913 visit to the Paris School of Medicine. There are also many photographs, including: portraits of Dr. Percy, photographs marked for publication by the Los Angeles County Medical Association for inclusion in its Bulletin, portraits and group portraits, two dauguerreotypes of Dr. Percy's female ancestors. Included is an original drawing used in one of Dr. Percy's publications.

James Fulton Percy was a Los Angeles physician who specialized in cancer treatment, and the use of cauterization. Born in New Jersey, he received his medical degree at New York University, and developed the surgical instrument known as Percy cautery in 1904.
