Biographical / historical:

Von Hardesty (1939-) is a historian and curator from the United States, known for his work in aviation and space history. He served as a curator at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and authored several books and articles on aerospace history, including works on Russian and Soviet naval and aviation history.

Arrangement:

The collection is organized into two series: Subject File and Individual Files Subject File primarily contains documentation related to the activities of the Imperial Russian Navy.These materials trace the historical evolution and political significance of both the army and navy within Russian history. Individual Files originate from the personal papers of members of the Association of Former Imperial Russian Navy Officers in America. This series features a rich assortment of photographs, correspondence, printed materials, and memoirs.
