Background
- Scope and content:
-
This collection contains correspondence written by Jeanne Blackburn to her boyfriend Paul Gunnison while he was overseas during the Second World War. Jeanne Blackburn wrote about the homefront and her activities.
In one of the letters (numbered "20" and dated September 16, 1944) she told Paul a story about a woman who was captured and tortured by Japanese soldiers. A few letters later, (numbered "23") she told him that she found out that not all the facts about the story might be true.
Most of the letters are numbered in chronological order at the top left corner, written with ink.
