Background

Scope and content:

A collection of approximately 800 Korean film posters created in South Korea between 1970 and 2018, with the bulk of the posters created between 2000 and 2010. The posters were issued by various film studios for films representing a number of different genres. Film production companies that appear frequently in the collection include CJ Entertainment, Lotte Entertainment, Syobaksŭ (Showbox), and Tai Chang Entertainment.

Bo Doub authored the collection-level description for this finding aid in April 2024. During the fall of 2024, Jungeun Hong, Korean Heritage Library Liaison, and Bo Doub, Accessioning Archivist, began coordinating a project to create and import item-level description for the finding aid. Ash Kim and Eric Kim, Korean Heritage Library student employees, created the item-level description and completed the project in April 2025.
