Biographical / historical:

Carolyn Berry (1930-2015) [AKA Carolyn Berry Bishop, Carolyn Berry Becker] was an eclectic artist and writer. Born in Sweet Springs, Missouri; educated at Columbia College (MO), the Chicago Art Institute, and Humboldt State University; died in Pacific Grove, California. One of the first "book artists" she used a variety of materials to create layered abstract works. Later she moved toward more figurative works in a variety of media. Berry was an early adopter and participant in "mail art" and also wrote poetry and fiction. Berry was married twice to Benjamin Bishop and Bob Becker.
