Includes handwritten diaries, 1910-1913; a CD-ROM containing .jpg-format images of the diaries ; an English translation of the diaries by Frieda Kasdorf with a preface and biography by Wilfred Martens, 2006 ; an abstract of her doctoral dissertation, 1953 ; undated manuscripts written for publication in various magazines ; undated manuscripts of Bible quizzes and puzzles ; biographical data, and her obituary, 1990. The diaries are in German Gothic script.

Biographical / historical:

Elizabeth A. Schroeter was born in Russia in 1895. She migrated to the United States with her family in 1913 and settled in Reedley, California. Schroeter received her B.A. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, an M.A. degree from the University of Colorado, and a Ped.D. degree from the University of Toronto in 1953. After retiring from a career as a high school teacher in various parts of California, Schroeter became a writer. Her autobiography, From Here to the Pinnacles, was published in 1956. She also wrote articles for various religious periodicals. She died in Reedley, California, in 1990.
