Loose manuscript sheets, including a fifteen page memoir and travelogue, by Hannah Jane Houser recollecting the Civil War and Army life on the Texas frontier during Reconstruction and the Indian Wars, 1866-1871, 1916.

Included are various narratives and commentary on the Buffalo Soldiers, enforcement of U.S. forts again Indian attacks, as well as attacks by white American rebels.
