This collection contains 92 glass-plate negatives and corresponding copy prints depicting the mining towns of Tonopah, Goldfield, and Manhattan, Nevada, in the early 20th century. The photographs show: miners, mines and mining operations, street scenes, buildings (including some interiors), parades, and drilling contests. Many of the photographs have the imprint of photographer E.W. Smith of Tonopah.
