Biographical / Historical
Crane Wilbur (1886-1973) was an American screenwriter, actor, and director. He was active during both the silent film era
and sound era. Wilbur's most memorable acting role was playing the male lead of Harry opposite Pearl White in the serial "The
Perils of Pauline." His most popular writing and directing credits include "Canon City" (1948), "Outside the Wall" (1950),
"The Bat" (1959), and Yellow Cargo" (1936). Wilbur was the nephew of actor Tyrone Power, Sr., and cousin of actor Tyrone Power
III.
