This collection contains correspondence from Private Mack E. Franklin, United States Army to Laura Stanley, his friend's cousin's wife, during the First World War. In some of his letters, written while in the U. S. Army, Pvt. Franklin wrote about a riot between blacks and whites in Washington D.C. (July 22, 1919) and a patrol around the Mexican border looking for bandits (August 6, 1919).

Mack E. Franklin was friends with Albert Parsons (collection 2014.015.w.r).
