Scope and content:

Contains correspondence, business records, financial records, photographs, and newspapers clippings of Julius Siemens, 1884-1943. Also contains correspondence of Siemens' wife, Anna Janzen Siemens, and his father, Peter Siemens. Other family members who appear prominently in the correspondence include brothers Abram Siemens and Jacob P. Siemens, and brother-in-law Herman Dirks.

Biographical / historical:

Julius Siemens was a banker and real estate agent. His primary areas of activity were Mountain Lake, Minnesota; Gretna, Manitoba; Ritzville, Washington; and Fresno, California. His business focused particularly on helping Mennonite settlers find land and create communities in various parts of the American West.
