This collection consists of over 1650 prints by photographer Mark Ruwedel. The collection is organized into series by project. The prints are primarily black and white.
There is also a small amount of exhibit ephemera and periodicals.

Mark Ruwedel is an American landscape photographer and educator.
Mark Ruwedel was born on born June 11, 1954 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Kutztown State College with a BFA in Painting and then received MFA from Concordia University in 1983. Ruwedel was an associate professor at Concordia University from 1984-2001. From 2002 to present he has been a professor of art at California State University Long Beach. He has also taught at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
Ruwedel specializes in photographing landscapes from the western United States and Canada.
Ruwedel has participated in solo and group exhibitions, created artist books, and several other books. His books include Westward the course of empire, Message from the exterior, The Italian navigator, Pictures of hell, One thousand two hundred twelve palms, and others. His work has also appeared in museums, galleries, and exhibitions. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2014, a Scotiabank Photography Award in 2015 and was was short-listed for the Deutsche Borse Photography Prize in 2019.
