This collection consists of the papers of American television and film director and film editor Virgil Vogel (1919-1996). Materials include scripts, photographs, awards, production signs, production information, and a single brick. Vogel directed a number of crime dramas for television and science fiction films from the 1950s to the 1990s.

Biographical / historical:

Virgil Vogel (1919-1996) was an American television and film director and film editor. He first worked for Universal Pictures, editing films, inlcuding "Mystery Submarine" (1950), "Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man" (1951), "The Man from the Alamo" (1953) and "Touch of Evil" (1958). Vogel moved onto directing, starting with "The Mole People" (1956). He directed a number of television series including "Wagon Train," "Bonanza," "The Big Valley," "A Man Called Hawk," "Mission: Impossible," "The White Shadow," "Centennial," "Knight Rider," "Magnum, P.I.," and "Miami Vice."
