Family background; Aaron Gordon in the Dept. of Economics and Margaret Gordon joins the Institute of Industrial Relations at the University of California, Berkeley; both become active in the Berkeley coop; Margaret works with the League of Women Voters then enters politics and serves on the Berkeley City Council in the 1960s dealing with issues such as youth unemployment, Slate politics, taxation, and school board recall; Margaret appointed Associate Director of the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
